I was referred to Ability Bow in February 2016 for weight reduction. I worked with my personal trainer Chantelle for 10 weeks. My programme included a varied mix of cardio and resistance training. Since attending the gym I have lost 1 ½ stone, my BMI started at 33.8 and has now reduced to 32.5 and the journey hasn’t ended here.
When I first joined the gym I was taking blood pressure tablets, which I have now stopped and I’m monitoring my blood pressure every day and it’s continued to stay nice and low. Having reduced my weight, I’m now able to fit into clothes I never thought I’d be able to get back into. My flexibility has definitely improved as I’m now able to tie shoe laces and put my socks on standing up, which is something I’ve not been able to do for years ; due to my weight it was always a struggle and I was only able to do these tasks sitting down. I’m also able to stretch down and touch my toes whilst standing, something I never thought I’d be able to achieve again as this was only possible in my younger years! I’m also able to run on the treadmill for a solid 10 mins, which has equipped me to be able to run for a bus which is also another big achievement I didn’t expect to be able to do again. I’m extremely happy and grateful that I got the opportunity to come to Ability Bow; I have been signed off by my personal trainer and am now an independent gym user. I will continue with my journey on achieving my target healthy weight of between 58g – 78kg.
