Ability gym can help everyone to improve. I feel stronger and more confident. I love it! Grace, 25
My Son has benefitted greatly from this Gym. He is disabled and it was the only place he felt comfortable and at ease, the staff are amazing. Lisa
I approached exercise with a fair dose of anxiety and skepticism about whether I would be capable of improving my fitness and overall health because I hadn't done any exercise for decades! But Patrick's calm and motivational approach and insight about what I could do in spite of my physical limitations , was exactly what I needed to set me back on the path to regular exercise. I wouldn't have the confidence or understanding of what I can do in terms of exercise had it not been for Ability Bow .
Since joining the gym I have found my mobility has improved greatly after having had a stroke. I’ve met some lovely people in the same position as myself who have a positive outlook on life now, due to encouragement from staff and each other. Please help us to keep improving!! Joe, 75
My wonderful sister attends the gym and has benefited immensely. The staff and centre do fantastic work helping some of the most vulnerable and often forgotten members of the community. The gym provides a much needed and invaluable service. Mary
I lost my husband and mother in the last few years and I sank into a depression. Going to Ability has helped me get back my confidence. Instead of sitting at home stagnating I am here meeting people and getting fit at the same time. Having never been inside a gym before the staff put me at ease and have just been so good I cannot praise them enough. Sheila, 57
There are no other services in Tower Hamlets for clients with disabilities to access where they are provided with the close support and medical/exercise input that Ability Bow provides. We have referred many clients over the years, including more complex wheelchair users who cannot access mainstream premises and services and they have greatly benefitted from the advice and close support your service has provided. Qaiser Mahmood Physiotherapist, Community Learning Disability Service
We refer 50% of our clients here to continue their maintenance programmes. The Ability gym is our key collaboration partner and a key player in enabling our clients through self-management. It is the only satisfactory gym for its accessibility for our disabled clients who are often financially strained as well. Joanne Mak, physiotherapist at St. Leonard’s hospital
