Support our cyclists at Ride London

Did you know Ability Bow has two cyclists fund raising for us in our first ever Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100. It is an exciting new cycling event on Sunday 10th August from the organisers of the Virgin London Marathon. 20,000 cyclists take part and it aims to become the largest charity fundraising cycling event in the world. It’s perfect for both club and recreational cyclists.

Fundraising Event

Would you like to attend a Fundraiser on Saturday 22nd March held by Maddie one of our London Marathon runners? All proceeds go to her Marathon fundraising for Ability Bow which we use to fund one-to-one gym sessions. It would be great if you could join us at this fun event, there are some great prizes for winners and a post treasure hunt get together at The Centre Page pub. Please RSVP by Friday 14th.

Team changes

As you may have noticed the gym is very busy these days with ever increasing demand; the waiting list has 63 people on, which is around a 3 month wait. Now that we have many groups here including the newly launched It’s Never too late and Heart Ability there are times when you may find as a wheelchair user you will have to wait to enter; there is a limit of 5 wheelchairs at one time due to health & safety so please ask for a timetable if you want to avoid particularly busy times.

Can you volunteer on our Open House Day ?

We need volunteers to get baking once again – on March 31st we’ll be having an Open House Day for funders, commissioners, gym members and referrers to learn more about what we do here – look out for updates and publicity nearer the time although it’s a day to inform service users we’d like to have a bake sale again as thanks to all your wonderful efforts for the last one it was very popular and an effective fundraiser. We’d also like help from volunteers on the day, so if you’re happy to show people around the building and possibly chat about your experience of Ability Bow let us know !
